I hate baby registries

As a mom, I hate every baby registry I have been asked to make.

No one used the one I liked with my first child, which was an online website list of general things I needed. Like, a folding playpen. Not an item link, not a demand for a specific, new, branded item, just a general request. Click the checkmark and send me a hand-me-down, I'll love it.

Amazon's is difficult to use and won't include things I actually need, like baby slings and breastfeeding pillows.

My mother wants me to try Target, and I find their stuff unpleasant.

Is this at all normal?
