How did you know you had a progesterone issue causing your mc? I had two and looking for answers 😢 after my first my Gyn would not test my progesterone levels. I went to urgent care with my 2nd mc and demanded a progesterone test waiting the results...

Exact same thing happened with me. After my first miscarriage I fell pregnant again and asked my obgyn to test my progesterone levels because I had a miscarriage before, and I started to take vitex which fluctuates your hormones (and I was told to stop cold turkey). They wouldn’t test them, they said it wasn’t necessary at this particular junction. Then I miscarried again. It made me so upset, just because I see a lot of posts of women being put on progesterone. There’s really not anything you can do to stop a miscarriage; but that’s like one thing you could change and take suppositories for low progesterone. 
So now TTC, the doctor agreed to put me on progesterone suppositories once I conceive but it’s more of a trial, if it’s something I want to do because there’s so much back and fourth info on if it works/doesn’t. But there not checking until next pregnancy ...

Most times, low progesterone doesn’t cause miscarriages. Your progesterone is low because the pregnancy is going to fail anyway. People blame low progesterone but that’s a very rare cause.

My doc said that as long as you have a normal luteal phase, there’s no need for progesterone supplementation. They only do it if you have a short luteal phase. He said that progesterone cannot ‘prevent’ a miscarriage so there’s no point. Apparently, low progesterone is cause by the miscarriage, not the other way round. So if you get your results and your progesterone is low, it’s probably BECAUSE you miscarried. Do you know what I mean? They way he explained it to me made sense. I asked about it as I too miscarried a few months ago, and he basically told me i can take some if I want, if it’ll make me feel better mentally, but it won’t make any difference 🤷🏻‍♀️

I saw a specialist after 2 mc, still awaiting tests results. She was sceptical about value of progesterone but said she’d put me on it if I conceived it again, but didn’t sound like she’d test just put me straight on it. I need to ask her more about it.
