Baby compromise

Has anyone ever had a relationship and when it came to having more kids, you guys were at odds? Did it survive or did you guys ultimately call it quits? I have a child and my bf has a child and I don’t want anymore and he does. I never wanted kids in the first place and my birth was very traumatic for me. Plus my bd is a complete deadbeat so I will never trust another man with having his child. My bf on the other hand always wanted kids and when he found someone that he loves and marries he wanted to do it the “right way” next time. He just told me he has a decision to make and my mind is racing. I really felt that we were perfect for each other, but now with something that you really can’t compromise on, we might have to break up. This hurts.
