What happens at appointments with no ultrasounds?

FTM here, I was told at my 8 week appointment I won’t be getting another ultrasound until 20 weeks. So what will happen at my 12wk(Thursday) and my 16 week? How do they hear heartbeat without US? Anything to see?

My doctor does urine, vitals, heartbeat, and asks general questions how I’ve been feeling and all of that.

I actually just got out of my 14wk visit with a high risk, they may measure your stomach it  should correlate to your weeks they'll listen to the heartbeat with a fetal Doppler and they may do more blood work also pee in a cup but that's basically every time lol

At my 11 week appt they had me pee in a cup, we listened to baby on a doppler, we chatted for a few mins and they did a routine blood panel on me. I think next visit I dont have an ultrasound either so I'm just assuming it's a check in.
