Yes. You have to remove it to get the giblet bags and neck out of the bird. 🙂

I said it doesnt matter.... but ive never cooked a turkey and never plan to... so it doesnt matter for me. But i also dont know the answer....

I remove it, but I think the packaging says you can leave it on.

As a general rule hearing up plastic is NEVER a good idea. Not even the oven or microwave safe ones. But yes, this is for packaging purposes only
