Hey moms I already know the answer to this but want to show my sister because she thinks it's not safe to eat any kind of fish while pregnant and trying to scare me. Ladies is it safe to eat fish while pregnant?

Yes just make sure all shellfish is cooked through. Avoid shark, marlin and swordfish due to the mercury and only 2 cans of tuna a week for the same reason xx

Salmon, catfish, cod, sole, tilapia, sardine, hake, tuna (canned light) all safe... and a bunch more ... my ob gyn game a list of fish that are safe to eat 2 or 3 times a week... I love fish!!

Yes and no. Some fish are okay like cod, shrimp, salmon, or tilapia. They’re lower in mercury levels. However many fish are not safe to have because of mercury. Swordfish, shark, certain tuna, shellfish like oysters, etc... should be avoided entirely. Another thing to be aware of is bottom feeders. Anything like lobster or crab or other bottom feeder fish have a higher risk of parasites.

My sister was trying to tell me that all tuna isnt safe and cause miscarriage. I have been eating tuna throughout this pregnancy and haven't had any problems. And now she's calling my mother in law fucking stupid even though she's 49 in age and ate tuna in both of her pregnancies and they ended up fine.

i dont eat fish really but with my first three kids, i ate tuna salad religiously 🤷🏽‍♀️ (chunk light only , albacore has more mercury) my kids all came out chubby and healthy
