Positive opk!

I don’t ever post on here, I mostly use the app to track my periods and get helpful advice from other women but I was just too excited to not share it on here!

I’ve always had excruciating periods - not just pain either...throwing up, lightheadedness, having to leave work or school when AF showed up so I got on a birth control - seasonique - to help with period cramping and other symptoms. But I always had regular periods before BC.

I got married back in October 2017 and my husband and I decided for me to get off birth control in November 2018.

By February of 2019, I still hadn’t gotten a period so I started taking supplements like zinc, magnesium, vitamin b6 to kickstart my period and it came around 3 days later.

Ever since then, my periods have been super irregular and I’ve taken vitex, pink stork fertility tea, and all different kinds of supplements trying to get my body back to regular periods like I had prior to birth control.

For the first time in years, AF came in June, July AND August....3 consecutive months! I never thought I’d be so happy to have AF come that often.

So after many supplements and research, I read about the SMEP and decided I would give it a try after my last period. So I stopped all supplements & the fertility tea.

However, my husband is a firefighter and works 24 hours shifts at a time so I knew this was going to pose a challenge for us and this plan. I’ve been tracking my ovulation over the past week or so and I got this obvious positive this morning after my husband left for work.

I literally SOBBED happy tears once I saw this. I’ve been so concerned that my body hasn’t been ovulating like it’s supposed to and I’ve exhausted so many different ways to try and get my body back on track that this is the BEST reassurance that my body is getting back on track by itself! Whether or not we get a BFP this month or not is not the biggest deal to me, I’m just thrilled to know that my body can do this whole cycle thing all on its own.
