Why is my Dr only giving me 2 refills?
I have hereditary high blood pressure and will have to take medication for it for the rest of my life. I went to a new Dr earlier this year and was put on a new medication. She had put in the order for me to refill the prescription 3 times. I had another appointment a couple months after the first one as a follow up and the medication is working perfectly for me. So after the 3 refills, I had to go online and send her a request to renew the medication. She ordered to allow 3 more refills. I went through those and just sent in another renewal request last night, and she only ordered for 2 refills. Each refill lasts 30 days, by the way.
I guess it's not a huge deal, just a bit of an inconvenience to have to request a renewal every couple months. I have never had to do this before. I'm curious as to why. Unless you guys have some possible reasons, the only thing I can think is I'm TTC. At my second appointment, I mentioned to her that my husband and I have been TTC for 2 years, so she sent me to a fertility specialist. She told me that once I do get pregnant, I need to contact her to be switched to a different medication right away. So maybe since now with the help of a Dr, I could get pregnant any month now and she wants my refills to be better controlled in case I were to forget to request a new medication, she has to review it every couple months and make sure it's not on record that I'm pregnant? I don't know. That's the only reason I could think of. Unless this is just the way she does things.
