Suggestions on paying off this bill/saving

I have a hospital bill from having my daughter. I also really need to save more for several reasons, first being that my lease is up in six months and need to change my car.

So I’ve been paying 500 every two weeks when we get paid on the bill and find that I haven’t really been able to save. I’ve been doing this so that by the time December comes I’ve paid off the bill. I figured when I’m done with the bill then I can just focus on saving starting in December but idk!!! It’s frustrating that I’m not saving now.

But now I’m considering paying less, so that I can also save more at the same time... but then it will take longer to pay off the bill. My mom says I should just take longer to pay off the bill and pay less but I just don’t know what to do.

Should I just pay $500 a month on the hospital and save $500? Not sure what to smartest thing to do with the $1000 a month between saving and the bill.
