I was told not to attempt pumping until 3/4 weeks after baby is born 🤷🏼‍♀️ as a FTM I have no idea how realistic that is!

We had latching issues with my first and the hospital lactation consultant wasn’t very helpful and wouldn’t bring me a hospital pump so I’m bringing mine, but leaving in car. If I need it my partner can get it. I ended up pumping for the first couple weeks and bottle feeding while I worked out the latching issues with the help of an amazing lactation consultant (and insurance reimbursed). My daughter easily went between bottles and breast, but it was something I was really worried about at first.

At the hospital you just produce colostrum in small amounts which doesn't really need to be pumped unless you're exclusively bottle feeding pumped milk. If you end up needing one because your milk comes in sooner they have pumps on hand for you to use.

I will just be using the one in the hospital they are so strong it could get milk from a stone!

I had my daughter at 34 weeks. I brought my pump. I used their hospital grade pump while I was there but I also wanted to use mine a time or two before I left Incase i had questions about pump settings I could use the lactation consultant. (We were also in the NICU for one week) ♥️
