My 2 month has a little cough

I made my soon to be 2 month old an appointment today to his pediatrician because he woke up with a cough and sound a little congested, they ran some tests for viruses and the respiratory virus especially because that’s what’s going around and everything came back negative even checked for strep and that came back negative but he still has a little cough... idk what to do, should I take him to the emergency room? I’m really restless because idk what to do and worried.
