My 8 month old won’t start practicing crawling?!!!

I’ve tried so many ideas and put her on her belly but she keeps lifting up to sit down on her butt lol. Am I doing something wrong? Or she just isn’t ready for crawling yet?  Is it normal for babies this age not to start crawling yet????? Help! Thank you !!!!!

All babies are different and some won’t even crawl, they just start walking when it’s time. I wouldn’t stress about it.

I wouldn't worry :) it's not like they have to be crawling at 8 months. Let them do it when they want to.

My first didnt crawl til 11 months. Then walked at 12 months. This baby crawled at 7 months. They're all different

My boy is 8 months today. I started bribing him with food and it’s helped. I put a treat (either a puff or a yogurt melt) on a book or toy and he will army crawl to it. He’s a fat boy though and loves to eat so it may help get the ball rolling.

My girl does the same. She will get into position and then just push herself back to sitting, she wants to crawl so bad but doesnt know how to move her legs and arms at the same time. I agree with what another said, hold there legs down is what my inlaws did to get my husband to learn when he was a baby.

No need to force it! My first son never crawled. I don't think its a milestone as some kids go straight to walking! Just enjoy a stationary baby because once they are mobile it is so tiring 😂

You can try by placing things she wants just out of reach to encourage and get down crawl around with her but if she is content in not doing it I wouldn't force her. Maybe she will be the one that skips crawling and just goes straight to walking! I have a friend whose kid is perfectly healthy and he didn't start crawling and walking till 18 months. Now he is everywhere and very crazy but a fun little boy to be around.

When she is up on her knees, put your hands flat against her feet so she can push off of them. Once she realizes she can move, she might be more inclined to practice! But I wouldn’t worry! All babies are different!
