I don’t know how to explain my relationship

So, I’m 18 and have recently started dating a guy who is 25, and the bottom line is that we are like STUPIDLY COMPATIBLE. We’ve been together for almost 3 months now and it is such a healthy relationship in terms of communication and treating each other with respect. It’s really brought a lot of stability to my life. However when other people hear about this, the ONLY thing they care about it the age difference. 1) how to I tell my parents about this in a gentle way? (I’ve been at college and haven’t had to really tell them)

2) how do I get people to respect my relationship?
