My due date. And my daughter’s birthday.

For the past couple weeks I could feel contractions and at my midwife appointment two weeks ago, she checked me i was 3cm dilated. No biggie, with my second daughter I was 5cm for two weeks and still went late. Well yesterday (9/19) I started feeling contractions around 3pm nothing strong. And I figured they’d calm down. My husband is a worrier and stresses over every little thing so i didn’t tell him or his mom (she is staying with us to help with other two until we get home from the hospital). My husband does a LEGO league with our oldest so I send them off to go do that at 6-7:30pm. Nobody has any idea still. They are starting to get stronger but nothing crazy I can hide them no problem. The second hubby leaves I tell MIL, who of course is over the moon excited. I tell her I’m not entirely convinced this is the real thing. Who actually goes to labor on their due date??...

so hubby gets home around 7:45 and I tell him to walk the dog and do some last minute things while I finish grabbing his toiletries (he still has no idea). He comes in from the walk and I’m like “so i think we should go to the hospital” he “freaks” out and I calm him down, reassure him that it’s probably not the real thing and they will calm down soon. We grab our things just in case and go. He stops for coffee on the way and I can start feeling baby sliding down and I’m praying my water doesn’t break in my car 🤣

We made it to the hospital without my water breaking 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 around 8:30pm.

We get upstairs a little past 9pm and I am blessed with the most AMAZING nurse. We were joking around and talking all night. She checks me after 30 minutes and I was 6cm and said that she could literally touch my water bag like nothing was in her way at all. 30 minutes after that my midwife comes in and she checks me I was a stretchy 7/tight 8cm. Mind you I’ve been joking around this whole time only pausing during contractions and even then I could still talk through them.

Midwife gives me two options break my waters and bring on the pain or ride it out. And I’m like BREAK MY WATER!! I’m gonna feel the pain eventually. I like to deliver naturally without an epidural. So 10pm-is when that went down. And by 11pm I was ready to PUSH. I felt that transition to it was like a switch turned on. 11:12 pm our third little girl made her entrance but not before making her dramatic flair and getting her shoulders stuck and having be pushed back in which felt like my midwife had to do like ten times but I’m sure I’m making up in my head lol.

My biggest baby, 9lbs 4oz 20.5 long.

And just for comparison

My oldest: 6lbs 9oz 19.5long

My middle: 7lbs 14oz 20.5 long

Me and my middle child right before I went to the hospital.

Little miss to be named ❤️
