Has anyone with GD not get rid of it after giving birth?

Idk why but that’s like my biggest fear right now is to give birth in a few days and still have GD/diabetes lol😭 I’ve heard it can happen but how common is it?

I had GD with my pregnancy. From what the doctor told me the placenta is what causes you to get GD because it lets off some hormone that causes it, and once the placenta is removed you will not longer have GD, But... she also said once you had GD you could POSSIBLY end up with diabetes in the future, so she told me to keep a healthy diet and I should be fine.
