Find a club that accommodates your interests- be it cooking classes, art, horse riding etc. That way you'll meet new people that you already have things in common with.

I met some good friends through work.
When I was younger I met a few good friends online that I still talk to. One I met via Facebook, he messaged me one day and we exchanged numbers then I invited him to my birthday dinner and became friends from there. I met another one of my good friends on habbo Hotel when I was like 14 😂 we randomly bumped into each other years later and a friendship formed. I used to have a blog and became with a girl on there. One of my friends messaged me on a social media site and we ended up good friends in real life too. These days I wouldn't attempt to make friends online though, it may work for some but times have changed.
