Just wondering if any woman smoked weed and their experience and how they were treated in hospital and doctors office if so. I’ve just heard a lot of controversial things and wondered what other woman’s opinions are!

I think that the comments are from many misinformed women, most of which who are giving examples that probably had other outside factors involved. There have been several studies (outside the US) that have shown no adverse side effects to babies who's mother's used cannabis while pregnant and it's sad to see judgement to such a level where understanding won't even be tolerated. I hope some of these women realize that those living in chronic pain, like myself, don't necessarily have many options besides prescription medication aka narcotics (yes, you read that right doctors will prescribe pregnant women narcotics) and feel like cannabis is a much safer and healthier alternative. All I can say is do your research and do what's best for you not the peanut gallery

Becoming a parent takes a lot of sacrifice, responsibility and growing up and if you can’t stop smoking weed for 9months out of your life just to be 100% sure you’re doing all you can to give your child the best shot possible to be healthy than you have some growing to do. Just my opinion because I was a weed smoker and the moment I found out I was pregnant I quit. No looking back.

Someone I know smoked with there first up until labor, baby was healthy and is ahead of the curve. She did the same with her second baby and she had placental abruption and baby was in nicu due to loss of oxygen during delivery and he tested positive for it and no one did anything, no cps or anything. Both kids are ahead of the curve, but personally as a weed smoker I have set all that aside to make sure I have a healthy pregnancy and baby. Just because things work out for one person and child doesn’t mean it will always work out and that it doesn’t cause defects. I personally think there’s nothing wrong with people smoking weed I just find it extremely selfish to smoke while pregnant. What you do when not pregnant is your choice as long as it doesn’t affect your parenting but to get high while pregnant and that baby has no say is so selfish and messed up.

The hospital will report you to CPS. My OB ran a 10 panel drug screen on me my first appt. it’s not worth the risk honestly.

I’m an everyday smoker normally due to my severe epilepsy. However, with pregnancy I won’t risk anything. I stopped smoking with my daughter and she’s due any day now. I never really smoked around the time I got pregnant with my son. I just never wanted to risk it no matter what I went through because we still don’t know the effects on baby while in the womb. I would never forgive myself if I was the reason something was wrong. I know plenty of women who refused to give it up though.

Smoking anything during pregnancy is harmful because it restricts oxygen getting to the baby. My SIL tested positive during her pregnancy for marijuana and now will have random cps visits until shes been clean for a year. I live in a state where its legal for medicinal use only

I don’t like smoking anymore because of the way it makes me feel, so I was done smoking a few months before I got pregnant but if you still smoke and that’s what you decide to do then go for it. I’m almost 100% sure there are women who smoke cigarettes and smoked their whole pregnancy and didn’t think twice about it and those things are waaay worse for everyone than weed is. Find out the legal side of things and if there’s a possibility you could get in trouble with CPS (mostly depends on the state you live in) and if you can then I’d stop smoking just for that reason. But I know so many people who smoked weed when they were pregnant and the baby and mom were totally fine ( the people I know who smoked cigarettes when they were pregnant have lung cancer and their kids all have really bad asthma) please remember that you’re going to get judged by everyone on everything you do from now until you die when it comes to parenting. Do whatever you see as fit and ignore everyone else because you are your own person and this is your child, not theirs. If they don’t spend every waking second with you helping you care for the child then don’t bring their parenting opinions into your home. Everyone’s different, but like I said just check the laws in your state and area and do your own research on cons and pros of smoking during pregnancy
