Best way to transition from pack n play to crib?

At our 2 month old check up we were told its completely safe to move our LO to his crib. So we are going to try this weekend, since I go back to work in 2 weeks. We have started reading in his room to get him more familiar with it. Hes not a napper, im lucky if i get 2, 20 minute naps a day. Any suggestions on how to ease the transition? The doctor said it would be 2 or 3 days of going in every 5/10 minutes of checking on him but after that he will be okay. Any advice or tips/ tricks that worked for you?

You definitely do NOT need to check every 10 mins if you have a baby monitor. That seems silly to do for a couple of weeks. Also, transition from pack and play to crib is probably one of the easiest transitions. There still on a flat surface in a rectangular bed. We just started doing naps in his crib, and after two days of naps we did bedtime. It worked out great!

I’m not sure why you would have to check on him every 5/10 minutes. Do you have a baby monitor? We didn’t do a transition. She only slept in the pack and play in our room for about a week to ease my mind because she was born with a lung infection and stayed in the NICU. And then we just started putting her in the nursery and she’s fine. We just use the monitor to hear if she’s crying and look at the screen every now and then.
