Would you befriend someone who just got out of jail within the last year?

As a mother would you befriend someone who is related to people you know very well if they had been released from jail within the last year? If you answer “Depends on what they did” can you explain your hard no’s. If “yes” or “no never” please explain why or why not.

I generally don't really associate with that type of crowd. Like. At all.
I can't even imagine where I would meet someone I had any desire to befriend, who had just gotten out of jail....

So many of you sound so bratty and judgmental. Going to jail does not make someone a bad person. A lot of them were in the wrong place at the wrong time, got caught up in bad situations, or were serving time for something small like weed. The people who smoke weed who don’t get caught are no better than the people who have gone to jail for it, they just didn’t get caught. Murderers, rapist, etc, are usually bad people. But to just say “I don’t associate myself with those types of people” and you don’t even know why they were in is so wrong. And no offense but it’s usually white women who feel this way because minorities KNOW how many of their people are wrongly accused and imprisoned for the smallest things. There’s so many documentaries on it if you actually wanna become educated. But don’t come at me for that comment. It’s the truth.

I have no interest to befriend anyone that just came from the jail and have them fuck up my life. No thanks. One of my boyfriend’s uncles had been in jail so many times due to the robbery and he keeps out of trouble now but still, his habits never changed because he stole my boyfriend’s expensive music items! And of course, he never confessed about it. You know the old saying “A leopard never changes its spots.”, yeah, that’s why I said no.

I'm good friends with a guy who was 18 with a 17 year old boyfriend and he ended up in prison for 14 years because of it. I dont think hes a bad person for loving someone who was a year younger than him. He got out a year ago along with the father of my child who went in for the same thing, he was dating a girl when he was 17 and when he turned 18, literally a week after his birthday he went in for 5 years. I think its circumstantial. I'd never befriend anyone who was sleeping with a significant age gap, was abusive, or anything like that but in my life I know some people are good people who end up in jail.

Hard no to violent crimes, sex offenders, murderers, etc.
A maybe to drug crimes, DUI’s, theft, fraud etc.
Sure to like tax evasion and other things along those lines.

Depends on what they did. You can’t judge someone because they messed up. When I was dating my husband his dad was in prison the first year we started dating. He has two strikes in the state of California. I was so nervous meeting him I didn’t give him the benefit of the doubt but he is a giant teddy bear.

No pedophiles, no thieves, no murderers, pretty much no one who directly did something on purpose with an intent to harm someone else or animals, anything other than marijuana drugs charges(unless they are in bed with  cartel or other crime entities), pretty much anything that's bad.
Acceptable are people who committed tax evasion(though dishonesty is something I'd keep my eye on the about), anything accident related(drinking and driving or being high at the wheel isn't acceptable, you are just a dumbass at that point), self defense, I'm okay with people who fight for specific causes(pedophiles, rapist, domestic abusers, child abusers, animal abusers are ALL vile creatures and deserve to be strung up), pretty much minor things that dont really hurt other people who dont deserve to be hurt. 🤣 
In general though, I dknt run with law breakers, but I have family who have broken the law. If it's bad enough, I wont have you in my life.
