Would you induce at 39 weeks? My doctor offered it, but it’s not medically necessary.

I’m really torn because I want her out, but I want her to be ready! Lol I’m 37 weeks tomorrow so it’d be two weeks away still.

If there is no indication then they shouldn’t be offering you it! Don’t make yourself high risk because of someone’s impatience! If you have a totally low risk pregnancy and movements are good then you are safe to go 12 days over your due date before being induced

Mine offered to induce at 39 weeks, but I'm high risk. It's not medically necessary At this point, so I am waiting until baby decides to make his or her appearance on their time, unless I medically need it.

Yes. I was induced with my first and I will be induced in the middle of my 39th week with this baby. I had a great and enjoyable birth the first time. I ate dinner with my fam Sunday night, came in to the hospital following that, started pitocin and gave birth the next day. Having it scheduled was one less thing I had to worry about, plus I wasn't FMLA covered at the time, so at my job I had worked every day in July except for two, so bonus I got a day off (lol) and delivered July 30th and thus my 6 weeks mat leave began. I could hardly walk but I knew I needed to work up until my delivery to have those full 6 weeks with the baby.

It would be sooo tempting but I honestly wouldn’t want to be induced unless it was medically necessary. I’ve just heard people say it hurts more and it can increase the risk of c section. Not sure how much is true, I went into labor on my own with my first so I’m just going off what other people have said.

Mine offered to induce anywhere from 39-41 week. I declined to set a date for now. There isn’t a need yet and I really hated baking induced last time.

Yes I will be taking an induction if baby isn’t here by 39 weeks. My first babe I was in the pushing stage for just shy of 5 hours. I went to 41 weeks and my daughters head was so big it was 99th percentile. My doctor is leaving on vacation during my 39th week and I don’t want anyone else. He said it’s voluntary and I can deliver with someone else if I want. So out of all my choices I will be taking the induction for hopefully an easier delivery for me.

I may get the option to be induced early, pending a growth ultrasound at 37 weeks. My first was a big baby, and the office that delivered him said they wouldn’t let me go full term and now I’m in a different state and new office with this baby they said they don’t want me having another that size or risking bigger=complications.. so we’ll see. Idk if that’s technically medically necessary but i am definitely scared of a bigger baby than my first or the possible need for a C section.
