Consultant led care?

Hi, so I'm expecting my second baby, but third pregnancy. I had a 4th degree tear with a good amount of stitches and needed to be stitched in theatre due to blood loss and how many I needed. My question is, what can I expect from consultant led care? The midwife said they wont want me having a big baby but I was almost 10lb at birth and my son was nearly 9lb, so I'm just worried a little. She said they will tell me what kind of birth i should have and if i say no theres not much they can do. But she made me sign a form saying i agreed to a c section if i needed one. Which doesn't bother me, I'd prefer a natural one but if i need it for me or the baby then I'm open minded. My sons birth was quick and easy with only gas and air when contracting, pushing I had nothing. 
What can I expect? I'm terrified!

I had a consultant led birth. Induction at 39 weeks due to gestational diabetes. 33 hour labour which ended in a c section. It was still a very positive experience for me. They do a lot of checks, very frequently. And I was strapped up to a lot of machines. I guess its all protocol but it was a bit excessive I think. Other than that, I felt like I was in good hands.

I was consultant with my first for a heart problem and midwife with my second. 
I just had some of my appointments with the consultant in the hospital. Honestly was no difference other than I had a quick scan on baby around 32 weeks and they sent me for some heart monitoring. My consultant appointments replaced the midwife ones so it was the same amount at the same weeks. 
This time I'm midwife care but have 1 appointment with the consultant to discuss if I'll need a C-section or if I can have a vbac.
