After a tough road... we found ourselves on another one 🙄
So I’ve already posted about my horrific pregnancy, so now I’ll tell everyone my birth story ! It’s a bit long very sorry 🤷🏽♀️
Went into hospital for my daily blood pressure check up and a growth scan for baby, me and my husband were most worried about the blood pressure and he was trying everything to keep me calm so I didn’t end up staying in again 😂 turns out my bp was great!
We went to the scan expecting to hear she was on the small side, because that’s where she’d been the whole pregnancy. The woman took her measurements and then left the room, she got another lady to measure my daughter and they both agreed that she had stopped growing. Apparently her stomach was actually smaller than two weeks ago.
So they send me back into triage after telling me how likely they were to induce etc, by the time I get back into triage and they take my bp again it’s gone from 140/90 to 178/113 😅 so they admit me into hospital and all the doctors are being quite vague about their plans. This annoyed me and my husband a lot because we wanted to know as soon as possible what they were doing for our daughter, my point was that I didn’t mind all the suffering I was going through as long as she was healthy but now she wasn’t, she needed to come out.
I didn’t hear much more that night until the morning, where a doctor came to see me, she told me she wanted to wait until Sunday (it was Friday) to induce because I would be 34 weeks then. She also promised no matter what my daughter would be out and safe by then.
So On the Saturday night I stared getting contractions that I didn’t know about, they hurt but the midwife pinned it On Braxton hicks. My babies heart rate dropped with every one so they sent me up to delivery with the plan to induce me that night rather than in the morning. I was pretty pissed at this point and was trying to tell the doctor that I didn’t want to be induced anymore I wanted a section because very obviously my baby couldn’t handle the smallest contractions so why put her through the distress of full blown ones? Of course I was ignored.
My contractions stopped and she settled so they sent me back downstairs to sleep to get ready for my actual induction in the morning. The morning came and so did the doctor, she checked my cervix and said it was so high up and closed she could barley reach it. This made her decide for me to have an emergency c section because the length of my induced labour would be way too much for my baby to handle.
I was terrified of having the section but I knew it was the best option for my daughter, the recovery would be long and hard but at least her entrance to the world would be as safe as possible. So 5pm came round and I was sat outside theatre in a room with my husband waiting to go in when a midwife appeared and told me ‘ hey from our monitors we can see they you’ve been having some steady contractions, her heart rate has dropped a few times but did you want to try natural instead?’

I was literally sat there in my gown and stockings, my husband was dressed in his scrubs waiting for the doctor and they want to ask me then 😂 also add in that my contractions are making her heart rate drop , why would I do that to by baby 😂
So I got into theatre, full on freaked at the epidural, Lay down and prayed and prayed, all of a sudden she was held over the curtain and she was the tiniest thing I’d ever seen 😂 she came out screaming and has been screaming since, she’s full of attitude and as the neonatal staff like to say ‘she’s so small but she really doesn’t think she’s small’ but she’s doing really well. She was born at 34weeks exactly weighing 3lbs 4 and never needed help breathing, monitors were off on day two, drip was out my day 4 and now we’re just weighting for her to fatten up so she can come out her incubator then come home hopefully!
