Would you use life360 or other apps to track you child?

Hi ladies, 
I’ve seen so many posts about parents trying to track their teens’ locations with this app that it really got me thinking. So I came here to ask you guys if you’d use such an app? 
I personally think that it’s a violation of privacy. Although my paranoid side would be constantly worried that my child was in trouble. 
I still think that it’s not appropriate to use it with your child (unless she/he is too young to travel alone or with friends and you need it for safety).

I actually got my mom into tracking my sister and I when I was a teen. Now we all track each other! For safety reasons and making sure as a teen we were at the place we told her we were at would give her that piece of mind that we are okay. Some people might feel different but I think it's probably the best thing ever!

How is it a violation to check in every once in a while .. I wouldn't use it like all the time. Only If the kid is late getting home or if they aren't answering me or not checking in after a certain time like, not very often. I feel like it's a good way to make sure your kid doesnt end up the one lost or stuck in the trunk of someone's car somewhere.

I think it’s a great system to use. I’m talking from the teenager’s perspective (I’m 18 and my parents have used this system since I first got a smartphone). All of us are tracked though. I really 100% advise that you have the whole family on the app instead of just the kids though. If it’s just your kids, it might feel like you don’t trust them, but if your kids can see where you are too, it feels more like a tool for everyone to use together. They can see when you’re at work, when you’re on the way home, etc and it just makes everything more convenient.

Me and my husband use it for safety reasons like if one was to break down and we need directions to them ext. Ext. When my children are old enough to have phones I will have them on it for safety reasons that's all not to invade privacy but to make sure my babies are safe.

Knowing where your child is is 100% not a violation of privacy. I have no idea if I’d use it. I think I might. But I definitely don’t see how it could be a violation of privacy.

I still think it’s a bit weird and that we lived perfectly without that app before, but hey.. whatever floats your boat.

I’m 14 and my dad put it on my phone and it only has him and me on it not my mom, it’s good and i don’t really mind it but it’s annoying that whenever I go somewhere he adds it as a place to be notified when I get there and leave there. Like one day my parents new I was going to the mall with my grandma. my GRANDMA. And he added it. I would understand if was only with friends or i go there a lot (which I don’t) the only time I go anywhere is with family, unless it’s for school. My dad wants me to go outside but most of the time I ask to go anywhere and do normal teen stuff (go to the movies, mall, fair, etc) he says no. And if I can go he adds the place I’m at like I go there everyday. I get privacy in my room but other then that I get little privacy bc of my dad.

My whole family uses life360! mostly for my little sister who just started college lol i dont mind it, at first my sisters were a little annoyed about less privacy but now we use it to check where the others are so we know if theyre too busy or if they'll answer their phone😂 the only problem my family has had is my sister leaving her phone places in high school and going somewhere else, or turning her phone off completely.
