What do contractions feel like?

I am 36 weeks tomorrow. I just had this sharp tightening feeling at the very top of my stomach that felt like a strong gas pain and made me nauseous for a second. Went away quickly, under a minute, and only had it twice so far.

Does your stomach get hard to the touch when it happens? Could be the way baby is moving or could be contractions

I'm guessing they weren't contractions. For me, contractions have always felt like period cramps that come and go consistently and get stronger over time.

I experience that when I’m having digestive issues that just feel worse because of the cramped nature that is the stomach right now. Contractions for me haven’t ever been localized to just the top of my stomach.

Im 37 weeks and had this happen 4 times today made me feel light headed after and my cheeks were red.
