Burning in breast?

My little boy is 3.5 weeks old and is EBF. Recently I’ve noticed that halfway through feedings, my breasts start burning to the point that we have to take a short break. I’ve looked around my son’s mouth for signs of thrush, but everything looks normal. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes! I’ve been told that is letdown. My LO is 6 weeks and I still feel that. They told me to either hand express, use haakaa or pump to get the milk out would be helpful after the LO feeds or while feeding if baby doesn’t take both breast during 1 feed. So far it has helped (burning doesn’t last as long)

FWIW, my LO never showed signs of thrush while I had it.  My letdown felt much more painful while I had it, too.

My guess would be latch related

Yes , i tried breast feeding with out the nipple shield & i felt a burning sensation everytime. I eventually went back to the nipple shield lmao. Maybe he's getting a bad latch.
