I got one daughter called Poppy and I am having another girl. My husband and me really love Verity as a name but my mum hates it. Would it bother you? It’s putting me off and I can’t think of any other names my husband and I agree on and I love.

I think it’s rude of anyone...ESPECIALLY your own mother/family to tell you that they don’t like the name you’ve chosen. If you don’t have anything nice to say, keep you f*cking mouth SHUT! People are awful and I really hope you don’t let her sway any decisions that you and your husband make for YOUR child.

This is why we didn't tell anyone our name choices until after the birth. We have very opinionated family members, and I didn't want to hear criticism, or be put in a position of "not caring what our parents think". So we told everyone we are keeping it as a fun surprise since we found out the gender lol

I wouldn’t let what she thinks change your mind. My mom keeps telling me she hopes our baby is a girl because she hates that our boy will be named after my father in law. But as I’ve told her, my husband has just as much right to name our kid as I do and she’s already had 4 chances to name kids, so get over it.

I'm sorry a few people have also said that they don't like your name choice!Verity is a beautiful name! Great meaning, too. If that's what you've decided on, kindly but firmly tell Granny/Nana/whatever that she has until baby's birth to get to grips with it. You have made your choice and her complaining about it is just ruining things for everyone. Nope, wouldn't bother me. My dad told me he didn't like one of the girl names we had picked out (we chose 2 names just in case because twins run in the family) because it sounded like a stuck up girl name. I told him he could go kick rocks and if he wanted to name a girl, he could have another of child of his own.
I pick what I like and everyone else can suck it, 😁 but I'm also a b**** like that 😂.
