Does sex truly induce labor??

How many mamas have DTD and truly went into labor cause of it. It was all fun and games but close to 40 weeks that’s more of a challenge

We’ve had sex twice since I hit my due date and it hasn’t done anything to initiate labor. Between me and my husband who fractured his foot it was awkward 😂 and felt more like a chore than fun.

Had sex Saturday night, baby was here within 24 hours and born late Sunday night. First time mom and he was 39+3

Last week we DTD and it caused some contractions. But they stopped in the middle of the night. I’m sure it works when your body is ready for labor.

I’m 39+3 and we DTD last night.. this morning around 830 I had some of what I think is my mucous plug.. been having it since 🤞🏼 fingers crossed labor starts sometime soon

There are higher levels of prostaglandins in sperm than in hospital inductions methods. So technically it should work well if you’re close!

I don’t believe it does although my husband and I had sex 3 days before I went into labor. They say hot baths induce labor....the night I went into labor, I had a hot bath and about 30 minutes later, I started contracting and had my baby the next day.

I wish... we were very sexually active until my 39th week. Now I have too much pain and cramps to be interested but baby girl is still in there.

39+4 and did it last night and had cramping afterwards but nothing happened. I also had pelvic pain afterwards, but I think it was just due to having arc at this late stage and it was awkward.

Had sex at 38 weeks. Didn’t think it was working but I was to be induced the next day so I didn’t worry. Next day I went in to start my induction after a night of back pain but nothing horrible. I was already having regular contractions and they weren’t strong at all, it maybe my induction easier and I went from 0 to 3cm just from having sex. I’d say it works, just takes time. But baby will come out when baby wants to unfortunately
