Loan for wedding?

If your expecting nothing from your parents and in-laws to help pay for your wedding, is it a thing to get a loan out for your wedding/honeymoon ? I know my bf is going to proposing in the near future and the whole figuring out how to pay for everything is just giving me anxiety thinking about it..

Do not take out a loan for a wedding. Have a longer engagement to save or a less expensive wedding. It’s not worth starting your marriage in debt (beyond the debt you each bring to the marriage).

I wouldn’t do that unless it will be easy to pay back. You can always have a cheaper wedding or save up. It just sucks to be in debt right away in a marriage.

I wouldn't go into debt for what basically amounts to a fancy party. If I couldn't cash flow it I would either skip it for a courthouse wedding or wait until I could cash flow it.
But I am a big fan of Dave Ramsey.. so...

We didn’t want to start marriage with any more debt. Neither family could really help. My husband and I both got second jobs and used that money for our wedding.

There are personal loans that you can take out. My husband and I took out a $5000 loan for our wedding/honeymoon expenses. Just depends on what works for you both.

If you go the loan route get it through your bank or credit union. Otherwise, I'd pick up some overtime go save up

I'm sure you could get a personal loan but I doubt it's worth it. I'll just save up and do want I can afford. My boyfriend and I will have a super cheap wedding 🤷 but hey, people that spend lots get divorced more often, statistically
