3 day old always hungry?

Okay so I finally got my milk in yesterday and I try and nurse her every 2-3 hours for 20-30 min but during night time she cries and starts sucking her fingers acting like she wants it every hour. Normal? Why is she doing this??? Am I feeding her enough??

Don’t even look at the clock right now. If she’s acting like she wants to nurse, feed her, and yes that might mean every hour sometimes. It’s totally normal, and will eventually settle down.

Cluster feeding, it’s how the baby gets your milk to increase as they grow to the amount they need. It will happen often in the beginning as their tummies are growing by the day right now. All 3 of mine have cluster fed more at night than through the day.

My son did this. Laceration consultant recommended a pacifier so we could distinguish if he was actually hungry or just wanted something in his mouth to sooth. It helped a lot
