Pediatrician appointment ?

I am 39 weeks pregnant. When should I find a pediatrician for my baby? Like now or after baby is born?

Before is best. The pediatrician you chose can come to the hospital that way you don’t get stuck with the pediatrician on call who may be out of network for your insurance. Also, baby has to see the pediatrician at like 3 days old so it’s better to have it all set up before hand.

I honestly waited tell I had him and ask the hospital I delivered at for recommendations. I know it’s good to decide before but honestly this worked best for me.

We weren’t sure with our first how that all worked. When we were in the hospital after bursts, someone came to our room gave a list of local pediatricians that accepted our insurance, had us fill out the paperwork and burst certificate and all of that. I believe every hospital does this. We LOVE the pediatric office we were referred to!

You should decide now. They asked me in the hospital after my little one was born who their pediatrician is. I told them who I wanted and it got all set up.
