Is a gender reveal for family stupid if you already know?!

Question

Backstory: we are going to do a blood test in a few weeks (currently 13 weeks today) and will find out the gender. My husband and I want to have a private moment to find out together what baby is. That being said, is it stupid to do a gender reveal for close friends and family? I was thinking like confetti cannon/poppers and like a simple bbq.. i want to focus on their reactions but don’t want to find out with everyone watching us to “see our reaction”. We will be so happy either way: girl or boy, but want the private moment to ourselves.. help! Lol is it stupid to do a reveal for friends and family or would it be cute? If you’ve done this, what did you do?!?

I’m doing this, as well. I told my family I want to be the first to know with my husband and that way I can process everything on my own. Plus, we want to find out the genetic info, too, before we tell everyone everything. We are planning on doing the smoke cannons (we are having twins, so will be doing two different cannons). But, we just want to see everyone else’s reactions. 😁 I don’t see a problem with it, personally and it’s your moment to choose how you want to announce it! I’m excited for it! We will have results within the next week of both babies genders. ❤️

I think that’s great! There is part of me that loves keeping a lot of this just between my husband and I, I think it’s such an intimate and exciting experience.  But we are also very close to our families and want them to be included as much as possible! We will most likely be doing the same thing!

We did this! We found out the gender at our office visit and kept it a secret. Then we planned a little bbq with his family and mine. I made a box with balloons inside and surprised them with it. It's not crazy/dumb. My husband thought that's how gender reveals were supposed to be Haha. But the previous gender reveal we were both surprised by it. Its honestly however you want to do it.

We did the reveal for family even though we knew. It was more like a gender announcement for everyone. It was alot of fun. Everyone loved it and had a great time.
