Does having gestational diabetes mean high risk pregnancy?

I was diagnosed early with it, am I considered high risk? I am also overweight and have had 2 miscarriages in the past. Wanting to know if I’m considered high risk. TIA

Typically they say women “overweight” are high risk simply because of their weight no matter how healthy you are outside of your weight which I think is absolutely disrespectful. However having gestational diabetes can be considered high risk because baby may grow a little faster and gain more weight then normal. But I’m no expert just a mother of 5 with a lot of experience with different outcomes. My honest opinion is don’t worry sweetie. Doctors say all sorts of things and have you worked up and baby will more then likely come out perfectly healthy.

You’re considered high risk, but that just means more appointments to monitor you. The baby may come early, and may be on the bigger side because your body regulates it’s insulin differently. All you can do is monitor your sugar, keep up your activity as much as you can, and listen to your gut if you feel something is wrong.

I was diagnosed with early gestational diabetes too and they consider me as a moderate risk  patient but they still treat me like a high risk patient and I go in every 2 weeks if my levels are good if not I have to go in every week  I am currently on insulin.
