Dentist at 7 months?

I got a call/voicemail from a dentistry asking to set up an appointment for my son, he only has 2 teeth it feels too soon... anybody taken their LO’s to the dentist or have an age planned out to take them?

Dental hygienist here...the first visit for baby is more education for you than for them to actually do anything with baby’s teeth. I will say it does seem a little excessive that an office is already calling you to get in. The American Dental Association recommends you see a dentist 6 months after a baby’s first tooth comes in though.

Dentists don’t actually DO anything until they turn 2. Before that it’s just to get baby used to the office and to give you info. I wouldn’t stress. Didn’t get my first in til 18 months. We started brushing daily very early though and now they say you can use fluoride (just barely smear it on) from day one!

My son is 7 months and has two teeth . We will be going as one of his older sisters was born with out enamel on them and caused a lot of issues. Plus around here they recommend by one or once they start getting teeth
