Do you still send your child to daycare if they're sick? Why /why not?

As a former teacher.... please for the love of all that is good, keep your sick children home.

I wouldn’t want my child going to daycare knowing there are sick kids around. And I would never send my child to daycare to get other kids sick. It’s not right for the other kids who can catch it, it’s not right for the daycare to have to deal with your sick child, and it’s not fair to your sick kid to be out of their home environment and at daycare with a bunch of people/kids. If your child is sick, they should be home with you

A cold, yes. A fever, ear infection, diarrhea, no.
If I had kept my daughter at home for every day she had a cold I would have missed like 2 months of work last year.

I voted depends. She has gotten colds before that just won’t budge. She seems pretty fine but has a runny nose. I can’t stay home for a week at a time just because her cold symptoms won’t clear up. The first day or 2 if she is feeling bad is a diff story.

If she has some sniffles and minor cough with no fever, sure. If she has a fever, diarrhea, vomiting, or rash then no.

I mean if she has allergies then she goes. But if I think for a second that she is contagious I won't send her. I don't want for her to spread illness, just like I don't want other kids coming to school sick to spread it to her.

I usually see if my mom can keep him when hes sick and if not, I go to the doctor to evaluate if hes bad sick/contagious. If hes not contagious, I usually send him. Better to miss half a day at the doctor than miss a full day nevause of speculation

Depends on how sick he is and the daycare’s contract. A mild cold, yeah, he goes. I don’t have the PTO to miss work every day he has a runny nose, I’d basically be a SAHM in the winter. Fever, vomit, diarrhea, acting miserable then he stays home.
