Bleeding at 16 weeks

I just turned 16 weeks yesterday and Last night my fiancé and I finished having sex when I noticed I was bleeding. I’ve had a bit of blood after sex before but not during my pregnancy. We went to the ER where they they drew my blood. Checked the heart beat which is down to 144, last time it was 178 ( not entirely sure if drops like that are normal) then they did a pelvic exam. He thinks I’m not actively bleeding but now I’m patiently waiting for them to call this morning for me to come into an ultrasound, and I’m having some cramps and pains.

If anyone has experienced something like this can you please ease my mind that everything is alright because I’m going a little stir crazy playing the waiting game
