Travelled?

Has anyone travelled recently to am tropical country while pregnant? I am going to the Philippines this October and this trip has been planned for over a year now. Haven't seen my parents for more than 5 years. I am currently 9wks 5 days and have been doing my research about Zika virus. No reported cases since 2017. My OB wont give me a definite answer until I see her next week. What are your thoughts? Anyone had the same dilemma?

If no reported cases in 2 years I'm honestly not sure why you're concerned?

I just traveled to the Philippines in August. My OB warned me against going as well because of the “reported” cases but I just made sure to use repellant whenever I was out. My husband and I we’re fine, we even ended up conceiving in the Philippines!

I've done multiple cruises to central america, south america and the Caribbean while being newly pregnant / TTC since 2015. Most recently my OB has been like if you can help it dont have go I wouldn't risk it. Which I felt is completely silly. The CDC had not reported any new cases in almost 2 years. We soaked our clothes in deet before we packed and whenever we went anywhere we would spray each other down with bug spray that included the deet. We had no issues have and have 3  healthy beautiful children conceived in that time frame. Just fo whatever you feel comfortable with Everyone is going to have a different opinion.

Honestly you should be fine. Confirm with your OB but I see plenty of women on here travel to tropical climates while pregnant.
