Is it just me?

Or does anyone else feel like every time you nurse it’s a production? I have to get my nursing pillow on, make sure my nipple shield is clean, get situated in my spot, etc.
I’m so envious of you mamas who can just whip out your boob and get to business.

Same! I have to use the nipple sheild, a haaka on the other side, and put a bib on myself because my let down can be so much so fast 😬 I definitely don't feel comfortable breast feeding in public

I was exactly like that for the first 4 weeks and then one by one I started ditching props. Nipple shield went first (the latch stung for about a week after that and then became painless). Next went the pillow when I started trying to hold her more upright to feed to prevent gas. I was exactly where you were wondering how those moms did it and enviously figuring that that would never be my breastfeeding experience but I turned the corner so fast maybe you will too! The props are awesome to train you and baby but you may not need them forever

It took me a month or two with my first to be more comfortable with the whole situation. I'm now one of the ones who just whips out the boob when I need to. It also gets easier and easier as time goes on - bub feeds more efficiently as they get older so you don't nurse as long. They also get big enough to sit on your lap somewhat so you're not holding their whole weight, so the pillow is not necessary anymore

It gets better! Personally, I'd invest in several nipple shields so I only had to worry about that once or twice a day or something. And you can experiment without the pillow to see what works for you that way. I prop my arms and baby up on my knees alot with my leg bent. But I couldn't find a comfy way with the nursing pillow (I know, weird). You'll get there!
