how do cats do with babies?

hello All, i want to know if anybody has any experience in introducing their newborns to furry babies? i have a cat he is 1 year old and is in our room all the time. i am first time cat owner so not sure abt their behavior. Also i want to know that how do u handle hair fall. my cat is quite furry and has a good amount of hair fall. will that be any issue for baby. Should we keep them separated for few months until baby’s immunity builds up may be a month or two. 
p.s i love my cat a lot and i am just asking bcz i don’t want any prob for baby. please share your experience. 
my c-sec is scheduled for sunday😊. pic of my cat for attention this is his fav spot to sleep in my bedroom dressing 😂 . my baby will also be in this room as we don’t have a separate room for baby.

I don't have any cats, but my sisters do and they've always just introduced them like normal without doing anything special or keeping them separate. You honestly want baby around the animal sooner otherwise later could actually be worse allergy wise. 
We have dogs and didn't do anything special the first time either. My husband just held our son and had them sniff him for a little and then that was pretty much it. They stayed to themselves besides a sniff here and there. And they loved laying right next to his swing or play mat.

Aw, such a cutie! I have a fluffy white cat too! It really depends on your cats personality. Mine did great with my first baby tho. She’s pretty hyper but also has super calm moments. She at first was like wth is that lol, but warmed up to the baby. My cats getting older now so she really just lays around and hangs out. But loves my daughter. Maybe have someone bring a blanket home from the hospital that baby has been wrapped up in so your cat gets used to the smell. 
Also for fur, we just vacuum a lot and lint roll lol.

Im thinking my cat wont bother with the baby but he WILL enjoy all the new comfortable baby items he'd love to lie on!! I do worry about him getting into the crib, or making the baby's bouncer or moses basket his bed so i'll probably be hyper aware of chasing him out of the room! We bought him a new bed a fee weeks ago which he loves in the hope he'll just stick to it and not show too much interest in the new baby items. Its my only worry really.
With regards to cat hair, our guy doesnt cast too much but if yours does I would get a hand held hoover and vaccuum religiously! Or get some of those tape roller thingys to collect the hair. I would just be funny about babies and cat hair getting in their mouths and stuff 🤭

I have 2 cats and they never paid attention to my son when he was a baby. Now he’s 15 months old and he pisses them off daily 😂 I’m assuming they won’t pay attention to this baby either. They aren’t super cuddling and friendly to anybody except my husband and I and that’s only when they are feeling it 😂

I was so worried about our cat with my son, she was our baby until he arrived. I didn’t do anything special despite recommendations. We never did anything except start closing our doors at night due to baby sleeping in a crib in our room. 2 years later it has become habit now and she is used to it! Plan to do the same thing with #2 in a few weeks. Just give her some love when you can and be patient if she is needy or seeking attention from you!

I’m worried about my cat. She is incredibly clingy, and I think she has separation anxiety from my husband and I. I think she will be okay with the baby, but not okay with not being able to come to our bedroom at night! She never leaves her side but I’m not risking her jumping into the babies bassinet! 
She’s going to be so sad :’(

We have a 15 year old cat that is currently a major fur baby. She sleeps in our room a lot too. She has even sussed out the bassinet over the last few days and made her way into it. Now I have to re wash everything and make sure it’s not within jumping distance from the bed. She is very anxious with all the moving of furniture around the house (loving the boxes though). Once baby is here Belle won’t be allowed in our room unless one of us is in there watching her very carefully. We don’t have any big plans for introducing her and baby. We know she won’t be too impressed by the ‘baby replacement’😂. I’m not stressing about her hair or anything, except for sleeping places, which are a no go. Cat hair gets everywhere no matter what you do! Our cat is very chilled out. I imagine she will have a good nosy of the baby to begin with, then won’t be too interested. They’re not good after all!

I have five cats, and they never bothered the baby. They could have cared less, still do. Oldest is 10 years old, youngest is two years old. The youngest sleeps on the bed now with my son but stays on the opposite side of the bed.
