Should schools be required to teach more about black culture and history, as well as other races? Constantly I see a lot of questions about not only the actual history of slavery and black culture, but tons of questions regarding Latino/Hispanic culture/history, and even Asian culture and history. People wanting to know the does and don’ts, and if something may or may not be offensive. Should schools be held to a higher standard to teach our youth other cultures and history? And I’m not talking about the one day a year “culture class” schools have or the one chapter in the textbook called “African American History”, but an actual in depth, deep teaching that happens throught the school year.
