Baby in own room?

Question

Has anyone put their baby in their own room right from the get go, in their crib? That’s my preference and what I want to do but when I tried to research it I found very little support for that - and almost everything was about room sharing which I don’t  want to do. Anyone have any insight? First time mom here.

Honestly if you want that then do it. Personally I feel like I get more sleep with the baby in my room because I don't have to wake up and go into another room for middle of the night feedings and diaper changes

We did own crib from start but in our room. They do some weird breathing things as newborns, surprisingly loud chokes and chortles and wheezes and stuff. It’s kind of nice to be close and peek in on them when that happens. Good luck.

Well do as you wish, get a video baby monitor and an owlet sock since you won’t be near baby whilst they’re sleeping. But as a second time mom you won’t get ANY sleep cuz you’ll be up thinking you hear your baby and because baby will be waking every 2-3hrs to feed. But before I had my baby I laughed at the fact that you’ll be checking on baby to make sure they’re breathing 😂 like every 20min lmfao but it’s TRUE!! Don’t put too much pressure on yourself either and do what’s comfortable for you

I shared a room with my daughter when she was born. Up until she was 1, she's now 4. 
I'll be room sharing with baby again this time round too. My daughter has her own room and I dont want her to get woken up by her baby sister. Also i like being close to baby while I'm sleeping.

I did it with our first few kids. You are correct, rooming in is encouraged now. I actually prefer the baby in my room because I can start to hear the feeding cues before they start crying. A monitor was never able to pick up the early little noises. 
Is there a specific reason why you are opposed to it? I think you need to choose what is right for your situation.

Nope I still share room with 18 month old and am due with second on the 23rd December! Trying to decide if i want him in his own room hard since we have co slept for so long and I love it .... but with new baby coming we will see

Do it!  I did it with my first two and they slept thru the night earlier on and have never had sleep drama.  My third, due to no free rooms to move hi into, is in my bedroom (in his own crib) but we both sleep like crap.  He is 13 months and still not sleeping thru the night 🙄. We have just rearranged the bedroom situation so I can get him out of here!!!

My first slept in pack n play bassinet attachment in my room for first 6 months. I would wake up 189 times a night to check if he was still alive even at 6 months. I would have never slept if I had to go to another room for that. Once he was in his own room I kept baby monitor up until he was like 3!
You can do whatever you want but it's so easy to have them in the room.

I think we moved my daughter to her own room within a month maybe 2. But we kept her in our room in a bassinet until then. Made it easier on both of us especially because I had a c section and walking to the other side of the apartment would’ve been exhausting in the beginning.
