Baby is big so doctor wants an additional scan at 34 weeks?

Baby was measuring big at 30 weeks (71 oz), but I have a history of delivering large babies without issue. The doctors wants me to have an additional scan at 34 weeks (probably not covered by insurance). Should I opt out or do you think it's important to get this extra scan only based on size? I am normal and baby is healthy otherwise. I don't mind paying extra for a scan to make sure baby is good but my husband thinks it's unnecessary and they are just trying to suck money out of us.

They can be off by +\- 2lbs so I probably wouldn’t unless it was paid for.

It’s probably covered since your dr is the one ordering it. I’d double check with them to see before declining. If it’s not then no it’s no big deal or I’d tell them to wait until 36ish weeks to do another ultrasound cause 34 weeks you still have 6 to go.

It will probably be covered by insurance since the doctor has deemed it medically necessary. It's not like you're saying oh I just want to see my baby again. I have to get an extra scan bc my first unexpectedly came early and they want to keep a close eye on what's going on since they don't know why that happened last time. I would do it, it's best for you and your baby.
