Is it important to date only Christians if you’re one?

I don’t find myself attending church very much anymore and even the Christian friends that I do have usually follow certain denominations which I’m not particularly a fan of. I guess the real issue is I don’t spend a lot of time around Christian people I don’t find that I compromise my faith and my beliefs by doing that my friends know what I believe and respect it always. But I feel like it’s different for relationships you really have to spend a lot of time and be on the same page with that person. Please share your experiences

Considering the Bible talks about not being unequally yolked I'd say it is important. Your values should reflect in the one you are married to. If you don't one always ends up compromising and that isn't fair to that partner.

A Christian should not marry a non Christian. The nonbeliever will pull you away from your faith. And since the aim of daring his to find out if you want to get married, you are risking your heart by dating someone you know you should not marry. Better to find a good Christian who you can see yourself sharing your life with than wasting time with someone who is unqualified to be your equal life partner

Dating? No. Marrying? Yes. 
If I hadn’t entered my current relationship, I never would have analyzed my feelings toward Christianity and rediscovered God’s grace. 💜 
I think it’s important not to marry or raise children away from God but dating someone may bring out something in them they never thought was there. 
That said, be patient and understanding if you do date someone of different beliefs. I had to know I was accepted fully for who I was before I felt comfortable revealing to him the change that had happened.

Most definitely!! The Bible talks about how being unequally yoked isn’t good. I’ve actually had experience with this when I was younger..
   I met a nice boy and he was great but he wasn’t a Christian. I tried to brush it off and excuse it and make excuses FOR HIM. But it caused many disagreements. He didn’t believe the same things I did and it was just really frustrating feeling like I couldn’t speak about what I believe in. So I dropped that before i actually got into a relationship with him. BEST THING IVE DONE.. I felt and still feel so much better.

I think having matching values is important, but that doesn't mean your religion has to be the same. My husband is agnostic, I'm very religious, and we're very happy. He ALWAYS supports me in attending worship services, and he will attend important ecclesiastical events. At the end of the day, I think God cares more about your personal happiness than if your spouse believes the same as you.
That said, being married to someone who believes differently than you is very hard. It isn't for everyone, but the way I see it, it's what's inside the person that counts. The hours they spend in a pew is a little less important.

I would say from a biblical perspective it probably would be highly discouraged. My personal opinion is that it’s fine if there is a great deal of mutual respect and if it’s long term things like how your children will be raised are discussed. You have to make that decision for yourself knowing that when your partner doesn’t share you faith, sometimes it gets kinda lonely.

Being a Christian is more than beliefs. It's a lifestyle.  We are His children and being used for His glory and purposes. It would be horrible to try to do things for the Lord while the person you are with doesn't have those goals. It would feel isolating and lonely and restricting. The Bible is clear about this. We aren't to be unequally yoked.

Some non religious focused advice.
Make sure no matter wat you choose someone that respects your faith.
But if you practice abstinence, good luck. Yes there is non religious people willing to do that but not that many. And depending on their age there is quite the chance thet haven't practiced it before you.
So make sure what you desire on that field.
And most importantly if you wish to one day get children. Do you want them to be raised religious? If so maybe it be easier to find someone that shares the same religion but of course once again there is non christians and non religious people that would raise their child with their faith. But its something that you shod figure out soon, both what you want and what the other person wants or your just waisting your time.

My husband was a Buddhist and he actually converted to Catholic so that we could marry in the Catholic church. Our spiritual journey was pretty good - we actually went to RCIA (Rite of christian initiation for adults) together and developed a stronger faith together. 
I had always been a catholic but i knew very little about the church and its teachings - so with my husband converting , it gave me a good chance to learn abt Christianity all over again. 
When youre starting a relationship you dont have to start at the same page but both of you should aim to end at the same page (in this case, religion).

I think the purpose of dating is to get married one day.
So if you want to marry a Christian, you shouldn't date a non-christian, because you know it won't work before you start.
Someone reminded me of this when I was about 16. I stopped worrying about boys that weren't ever going to possibly be my husband.
Now I'm with the love of my life. He's Christian. We don't go to church every week (have had some issues with my leaders but we're working through it) but we will get married and I have no regrets!!
So glad I waited for the man God brought me.
If you trust God, you'll wait for the right guy. And he will love God too.
