ICSI delayed because of Thyroid, help?š¢
So here it goes.. I have been on this app for about a year and always told myself that I wouldnāt post anything until I would get my BFP and post about it in my then favorite āglow announcementā group.
I donāt really look at the announcements anymore since it has become too painful.
Instead I look for advice and support in other groups like āmen and infertilityā and āassisted fertilityā.
Cause thatās where we are at atm, due to extremely low sperm count our only option will be ICSI.
After months of waiting I was relieved to finally hear what our plan will be, get all the appointments and meds sorted, and was looking at starting injections in about four weeks time..
Until..
The nurse rang to let us know that my TSH levels are too high (4.2) and I will need treatment first to get my levels under 2.
They said it will take weeks, maybe months for the medication to start working.
I had been quite alright so far, my boyfriend is very much struggling with the ICSI news so I stayed strong for him.
But this news has really tipped me over the edge. I finally had a game plan and dates to look forward to (even though itās going to get tough).
Now I honestly feel like I am back at square one. Still donāt know how long all of this is going to take, itās completely out of my control and so hard to accept...
Does anyone have had a similar experience? Thyroid issues? Any idea how long it might take to get my levels under 2?
Iād also appreciate tips on how to deal with these kinds of setbacks since Iām sure thereās gonna be more in the future.
Things just donāt work out exactly the way you want them to, otherwise I wouldnāt be posting in this particular group right now.. ;)
