Vacation days for kids!

So I know we get summer, winter and spring break vacation days for the kids. However not sure if you have price checked things but those time frames are generally more expensive (I live in so cal so tourists drive up prices significantly during holiday season). I noticed Monday’s I can get 60% off of a water park hotel. Up until a certain time. I asked my best friend if she and her family would like to go too! She has a family of 6 and the passes for 189 covers passes for 6 people!!!! Yayay. But she made a big deal out of not taking the kids out of school for one or two days for fun “frivolous” things. My kids never take sick days because they never get sick. The only time my daughters have missed was for their yearly physical and dental appointments.... so to me it’s not really a big deal. My daughters are testing well, all caught up in homework and whatnot... so.... my question is....

maybe in my mind I think a family vacation is important to family time and it’s important to be well rounded. Her kids frequently miss school for sickness. Sometimes up to a full week. (Her youngest has mental disabilities so sicknesses really knock him down).

So am I wrong? Is she? Are either of us?
