How many oz do you freeze?

First time mom here! How many oz is most practical to freeze in a bag? Should I be freezing a variety of different amounts? Or just keep it to the max the bag holds? I will be sending babe to the sitter when I go back to work so I'll need to supply about an 8 hour day when she's there.

For the first few months I only kept 4 oz in there max. Anything more and it was wasted until she was older and was eating more. I upped the oz based off of the information they were giving me at daycare

I’ve been doing 2 oz portions for now. That just seems like an easy to combine amount of I need 3 or 4oz bottles for daycare once he starts in January

Do different amounts between 1-4oz. It’s impossible to know how much your babe will take in the future, but this way you won’t waste any by freezing too much in one bag. My babe only took 3.5oz at a time for a lonnnnng time

Personally I freeze in portion sizes, so 3 1/2 to 4 ounces, just depending upon what I get. Once it’s thawed you can’t refreeze and it needs to be used fairly quickly so I would hate to waste any. Once I go back to work I’ll pump and give fresh for the next day so then I usually fill the bags full.

Once you thaw the milk, you need to use it for that feeding so if you put too much in the bag you'll have to throw out the extra.  I'd freeze 2 - 4 ounce servings. Having some small servings is good to use if they still seem hungry after a feeding.
