Would you be offended?

After my baby was born, my AIL was holding her she said to my MIL that my baby has her Great grandmother's nose. I got taken aback and a bit offended like wth, I'm her mother and she's got 100% my nose, why go so far?! 
My fiance said they just like to point out that it's in the family and shouldn't take it so serious.

It's a ridiculous thing to be offended over. People look for some time to the child as they carry on the family. Just smile and let it go.

Its just their opinion and they are related after all. Whats wrong with baby having similar characteristics? 
My son looks undeniably like me but both of my daughters look more like their dad and his side of the family. All three are still gorgeous and it doesnt make them any less mine just because they may not look like me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Im sorry but you're overreacting. Why does it matter if babies nose looks like their grandmother? I just dont understand what youd be offended over. And just because you think baby has your nose doesnt mean everyone agrees or that theres someone else's it looks like too.

I mean sure it’s annoying at times but my baby girl looks like my husband. Everyone says it. She doesn’t look like me. It doesn’t really matter. What matters is she is my little girl and life it good. Don’t sweat the small things... and that’s a small thing.

I can understand how it can be annoying. My mother has always done this with every grandchild. She's really into genealogy and she picks apart my brothers kids features saying that this trait belongs to this or that family line or if a trait is more on my fathers side or whatever. My parents have been divorced for a long time so when she notices traits that look like my fathers side, she gets a disappointing tone. Its like she's deciphering how much the child looks close to her genes so she can deduce how much of a kinship she should feel with that child. Now she's beginning to do the same thing with my child. I try to ignore it, but it annoys me as well. Shes been doing it since the first day my baby was born, which is ridiculous because babies change a lot and its hard to tell exactly what features and traits may become more pronounced later on. I like to think that my baby has a nice mix between my husband and myself, and while its fun to notice things that might be more my husband or more me, ultimately the baby is his own person, he's going to be his own unique self, and we are going to love him fully no matter what he looks like. Where as my mother seems to favor or disfavor the baby based on certain traits.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much to do about it. I’m being induced Sunday, and every ultrasound photo I’ve shared with my husband’s family they just talk about how much she looks like everyone on his side. Nothing about me! I told my husband I’d like him to say something next time as I’m sure it will only get worse once she’s physically here. I’d ask him to mention it if it keeps occurring. I view it as a respect thing!
