am i paranoid?

so my bf and i had a pretty rocky start to our relationship due to his ex trying to sabotage it, one of the ways in which was insisting he was at her house, so he offered to share his location with me because he seemed to understand that i got worried when she did that.

however occasionally he’ll shut off all location services (snapchat, imessage, find my iphone) and disappear completely off the grid. it’s something he used to do whenever he was pissed at me and wanted to make me worried but lately he’s been doing it without being pissed (or at least he says so when i ask whats up).

should i be worried or is he probably just stirring? have had a bit of a theory that he likes having the people around him worry about him because he always seems to intentionally be making his parents worry about him and he often gets vague and evasive with his mates for the same effect.

edit: i don’t have his location to track him as he shares it with me so that when his ex claims he’s at her place i don’t need to ask him (his idea not mine because he hated me asking). he also has mine due to a similiar situation with one of my ex’s
