Antibiotic and yeast infection?

Sorry in advance for tmi

I’ve been having vaginal itchiness since Saturday. On Monday I started using Monistat which has helped but is merely a bandaid for the problem. I started an antibiotic 3 days before the itchiness began due to an ear infection in each ear. A quick google search tells me the antibiotic and itchiness could be related but I wanted to hear from people who may have actual experience with this.
