We are deciding upon potential names for our little one, and have come across a few that we really like, one of them being William Andrew. Because our last name begins with S, this would mean his initials would be WAS - is this a big deal?

I think I’d only reconsider a name if the initials spelled something inappropriate. But a normal word is fine. I mean, how often do people even write or say their initials? Even if you have them monogrammed, usually it’s the last initial in a bigger font in the middle (wSa in your case).

My initials spell ARM and it's never been a problem for me.🤷🏼‍♀️ I grew up thinking if your initials spelled something then you were special. Lol!

Mine are SMH (Shaking my head) and not a single person has ever mentioned it to me. Unless it's something inappropriate (for example, FUK or POS), I would say you're good. 😊

Should be fine. Mine spell ERA, which is great. When I had my daughter I wanted to make sure her initials didn't spell anything bad, they spell RAM. It could be worse..

Agree with everybody else, obviously you don’t want your kid to have the initials ASS, SUK, FUK, etc, but that aside it’s really not going to affect anything. It always bothered me growing up that my initials were SAG, but not one person ever brought it up in nearly 30 years! (My initials are now SAW, so I think WAS is pretty great! 😉)
