Weight

Kellie

I've been really scared about my weight lately. breastfeeding really tore the pounds off me. I don't always feel healthy and some days it freaks me out when I can see or feel my bones protruding where there used to be some nice padding. Before I was pregnant I was about 145lbs, the first trimester I lost some weight and was about 135lbs. My last appointment before I was induced I was 156lbs. 4 days after having my daughter I was 148lbs. At my last doctor appointment I was 128lbs. I haven't been this skinny in probably 6 years. I am guilty of sacrificing a meal or two a day to focus on keeping my house in order, going to work, and taking care of my daughter. I know that's probably a good place to start, can't gain weight if I'm not eating. My milk production is great, I pump between 9-12oz per session and fill up about every 5 hours. Just had my daughter weighed and she's gaining weight and growing just fine, she gained a full pound in 3 weeks and the doctor was pleased to see that. As far as my BMI, for my height my range is 110-140lbs. I'd feel more comfortable if I was 135-140lbs again.

I've been looking up tips to gain weight. I'm not looking to eat a bunch of big macs, I want to gain healthy weight but I am worried that these healthy meal plans are 1. Expensive and 2. Will take a while to see results.

Right now I try to snack healthy as much as I can, I've been drinking protein shakes, replacing things with higher protein options (ex: black beans over refried beans), and drinking whole milk. I eat a lot of "boob food" like oatmeal too.

Is anyone else in this same boat? I don't like feeling so skeletal. I used to have cute curves, now I look like a preteen boy. 😣 Makes me feel insecure and unhealthy. I hate when women complement me on how great I look because I don't feel great and I don't like how I look.
